Community Foundation for MetroWest Elects New Members and Chairperson to Board of Trustees

NATICK – February 27, 2024 – The Community Foundation for MetroWest is proud to announce the election of two new members and the appointment of a new Chairperson to its Board of Trustees. At a recent board meeting, the nonprofit organization welcomed Dana Neshe, President of Middlesex Savings Bank and resident of Hopkinton, and Christine Schuster, President and CEO of Emerson Health and resident of Sudbury. Additionally, Roland Hoch, a resident of Concord and current board member, was elected to succeed outgoing Chairperson, Michael McAuliffe. These new appointments bring the total number of Trustees to a dynamic and accomplished group of twenty-one individuals.

“The Community Foundation for MetroWest is extremely grateful to have these distinguished community leaders join our Board of Trustees,” stated Jay Kim, Executive Director of the Community Foundation for MetroWest. “Their unwavering commitment to the community aligns with our existing board and will enhance the Foundation’s ability to make a positive impact on the MetroWest region.  We also want to thank outgoing Chair, Michael McAuliffe for his nine years of service and dedication to the Foundation and his thoughtful leadership as Chairperson. The Foundation looks forward to the leadership that Roland Hoch will bring to the Board as he steps into his new role.” 

Roland Hoch 

Roland has over 20 years’ experience in the organic food industry and is currently the Vice President and Partner of Global Organics, LTD. As a current Board member, Roland has already made a substantial contribution to the Foundation’s growth, and his appointment as Chairperson further reflects the trust and confidence the Board has placed in his abilities. In addition, Roland also serves on the Trustees of Reservations Board of Directors. 

A graduate of Tufts University, he has a Masters in Business Administration from Boston University. He resides in Concord with his wife, Sarah. They have two children, both recent college graduates. A fitness enthusiast, he enjoys cycling, rowing, and tennis.

Dana Neshe 

Dana is the President of Middlesex Savings Bank and will become CEO of the Bank in April, 2024. Since joining the Bank in 1995, she has been responsible for a variety of areas within the Bank including regulatory compliance, retail branches, enterprise risk, human resources, marketing, and community relations. Dana also serves as the President of the Board of the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation. 

Dana has a strong understanding of the local non-profit community and has served on the boards of numerous organizations including Framingham State University, the MetroWest Health Foundation (Chair) and its grants distribution committee, Philanthropy Massachusetts, the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce, and Jewish Family Service of MetroWest. Dana currently sits on the board of the Warrior Within Yoga Project and the Savings Bank Employee Retirement Association. Having grown up in Framingham, Dana is now a resident of Hopkinton.

Christine Schuster

With over 25 years of healthcare experience, Christine has been President and CEO of Emerson Health since 2005. Before joining Emerson Health, she served as president and CEO of Quincy Medical Center and Athol Memorial Hospital. She also served as COO of the Tenet Saint Vincent Healthcare System, Extended Care Division. She worked as a healthcare consultant with Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterHouseCoopers ) early in her career. 

A long-time supporter of the Foundation, Christine was exposed to the work of the Community Foundation for MetroWest through her daughter’s participation in their Youth in Philanthropy program. She has been honored as a renowned business professional with a passion for philanthropy. Christine received her MBA, with honors, from the University of Chicago Booth Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston University.
