To honor Jenna’s memory, The Jenna Putala Sunflower Fund hopes to fulfill two annual charitable goals expressed by Jenna herself.
First, Jenna would like the Fund to contribute annually to a Scholarship in her name at the high school she attended, Turners Falls High School in Western Massachusetts. Jenna was an outstanding student and a star athlete during her time at the school and continued to make lasting contributions to the community over the years. Upon hearing of her passing, school administration coincidentally reached out to Jenna’s friends and family about establishing a scholarship in her name without knowing Jenna already had funds of her own set aside to do this. This happy coincidence leaves no doubt as far as the impact Jenna had on the TFHS community.
Second, Jenna would like the Fund to contribute an annual grant to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to help fund an experience or trip for a Young Adult Patient on active treatment. Jenna benefitted from grants like this during her time as a patient at Dana-Farber and began discussing the idea of “returning the favor” as part of her legacy almost immediately after receiving her first grant.
Your gift to The Jenna Putala Sunflower Fund will help keep both of these goals alive for years to come. Thank you for helping us cement her legacy!
