Avidia Bank and National Development Named 2026 Community Leadership Award Recipients by the Community Foundation for MetroWest

The Community Foundation for MetroWest is pleased to announce that Avidia Bank and National Development will be honored with the 2026 Community Leadership Award. This recognition highlights the significant contributions both organizations have made through their corporate philanthropy to enhance the social, educational, and economic well-being of the MetroWest region. The award will be presented at the Foundation’s annual Community Leadership Reception on September 23, 2026, at the Residence Inn in Natick, MA.

“We are proud to recognize Avidia Bank and National Development for their continued commitment to the MetroWest community,” said Jay Kim, Executive Director of the Community Foundation for MetroWest. “Their support of local organizations and dedication to addressing key community needs make them valued partners in strengthening our region.”

Avidia Bank

Avidia Bank, a Massachusetts–chartered stock savings bank, has been a trusted partner of the Community Foundation for MetroWest, supporting initiatives that strengthen local economies and enhance the quality of life for residents. Through its investment in the Workforce Development Action Project, Avidia is helping individuals build rewarding careers while also addressing workforce gaps in the building trades, a sector critical to our region’s growth and prosperity.

“We are honored to receive the 2026 Community Leadership Award from the Community Foundation for MetroWest,” said Robert D. Cozzone, President and Chief Executive Officer at Avidia Bank. “As a community bank, we believe that investing in local organizations and initiatives is one of the most meaningful ways we can support the region’s long-term success.  We are proud to partner with the Foundation and others who are working to expand opportunity and strengthen communities throughout MetroWest.”

National Development

National Development has long recognized that strong communities are essential to long-term success. Guided by a commitment to community involvement, volunteerism, and philanthropy, the company collaborates with nonprofit organizations and civic partners to create lasting value for neighborhoods and stakeholders.

Through corporate contributions, grants, and matching employee gifts, National Development supports more than 60 organizations across Greater Boston each year. The Community Foundation for MetroWest is proud to be among those partners and deeply appreciates National Development’s continued support. The company has also been an active participant in ONEmetrowest Day, the Foundation’s annual community-wide day of service that brings together businesses and nonprofits to strengthen the region through volunteering.

“It means a great deal to be recognized by the Community Foundation for MetroWest,” said Brian Kavoogian, CEO and Managing Partner of National Development. “Strengthening the communities where we live and work has always been part of our DNA. This recognition really belongs to our team and to the incredible nonprofits doing the hard work in these communities every day. We’re just glad to be able to support it.”

Looking Ahead: Continued Community Support

Avidia Bank and National Development continue to demonstrate the important role businesses can play in strengthening communities. By prioritizing community involvement, both companies are helping to create a more vibrant, connected MetroWest community.
