Foundation for MetroWest Announces Donation Match Challenge
Board Chair Pledges dollar-for-dollar match up to $50K to Support Annual Fund
November 26, 2019, Natick, MA – The Foundation for MetroWest today announced that its board chair, president of Wellesley Investment Partners Louis Crosier, and his wife, Hope, have pledged a dollar-for-dollar match for any new donation or increase in a previous donation to its Annual Fund, up to $50,000. The Annual Fund, supported by individuals, families, and businesses, strengthens and supports more than 600 local nonprofits that address the 700,000 community members’ critical needs.
“Hope and I feel strongly that a matching challenge for the Foundation’s Annual Fund is particularly appropriate heading into this 25th anniversary year. It’s time to celebrate and recognize the Foundation’s impact, increase its donor base and expand community engagement,” said Crosier. “The Foundation does so much for so many, right here at home. Our entire community is empowered and should know that their contributions matter.”
The Annual Fund supports:
- Competitive grant programs to nonprofits that support initiatives in the areas of family support, hunger relief, environmental stewardship, youth development, and arts and culture
- Center for Philanthropy Education (CPE) provides freecapacity building to local nonprofits through professional development for 3,000 nonprofit leaders to date
- Youth in Philanthropy (YIP), one of the nation’s largest youth philanthropy education programs, with more than 2,000 program graduates
- Corporate Leadership initiatives, such as the new MetroWest Business Leadership Fund(BLF). Through the generosity of Middlesex Savings Bank and Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation, BLF provides opportunities for local businesses to support the community where its stakeholders live and work, now and in the future
- Impact MetroWest,in partnership with Middlesex Savings Bank and Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation; the Foundation has invested in a study to bring awareness to, and drive action around, the strengths and challenges facing the MetroWest region

The $50,000 donation match challenge is just one way the Foundation is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The Foundation has also embarked on a community indicator project, Impact MetroWest. The findings will be released in January 2020. The project is a gift from the Foundation to the region, providing important insights that will facilitate conversation, exploration and action, to better serve MetroWest residents now and in the future. The Foundation has also partnered with MathWorks for a special 25th Anniversary Grant Program, more information about the grant program and how to apply will be available in the new year.
