Message From Our Executive Director Jay Kim

I hope your new year is off to a good start. As we are now full-steam ahead with our 2023 initiatives, I wanted to take this moment to thank you again for your support and partnership in 2022, and share some highlights about what you can expect from the Foundation in 2023.

Nonprofits: We continue to work closely with nonprofit partners to respond to their needs in the form of grants, professional development, and board placement.

Action Projects: Our two Action Projects, Equity in Education and Workforce Development are expanding and will serve even more members of our community. Equity in Education is now in a third school in Framingham, and Workforce Development will launch an additional program in 2023. Details were in our most recent Impact Report, but keep an eye out for updates.

Youth: Our Youth in Philanthropy program is celebrating it’s 25th year. Graduation for the Fall program participants was this week (see the article below), and our Spring YIP program begins in February. We look forward to celebrating this milestone anniversary of YIP at our Spring Inspiration Breakfast on April 27th–save the date!

Corporate Partnerships: Our relationships with MetroWest businesses and advisors is a strong partnership, with many opportunities in 2023. We are proud to help expand awareness of the needs in MetroWest and ways their clients and employees can give locally. Our Professional Advisor Leadership Council, ONEmetrowest Day volunteer opportunities, and our Nonprofit Board Placement program are just a few of our initiatives which are expanding in 2023.

Impact MetroWest: Utilizing data as well as conversations with our key stakeholders helps inform our decisions. Over 50 data indicators in Impact MetroWest were refreshed a few months ago, and will continue to be a resource for the community as well as for the Foundation. Our Action Projects are one initiative that was created based on insights from this data, and we are grateful for this resource.

Together we are continuing to respond to the many challenges we face in our 30+ MetroWest communities, and we look forward to all that we will accomplish in 2023. Thank you again for standing with us, for all our MetroWest neighbors.
